Countermeasures is an exhibition that explores the navigation of the unknown and the continual phase of arriving at self.
Through site-specific sculptural installation, the exhibition offers the liminal space as both grounds for practice, and as countermeasure for the contemporary social and cultural unknown.
Countermeasures is the result of the creative research of two artists, Ellie Coleman and Linda Clark, whose practices investigate changing artist and self identities within an ongoing liminal space.
The new and ambitious creative research in Countermeasures represents experimentation from the conceptual premise, as well as the engagement of bricolage processes with materiality as a source of creative power to answer questions of the unknown.
In this exhibition, Coleman and Clark experiment with pigment, painting, video, textiles, metal, sand, and clay to explore concepts involved in navigating liminality including the body, identities and critical thinking.
