“the end” is a series of works that draw on the language of theatre.
the end is a series of paintings and sculptures that draws on the language of theatre to investigate the ways in which aesthetic practices blur over time and the poetic ways in which they can overlap.
In an era of the reboot, remake and remix, contemporary culture can feel increasingly fixated on the past. These restaged images and objects explore the historical connections and shared visual languages of theatre and cinema across the past century, flattening them into the present moment; one that can often feel like an ending on repeat.
