This exhibition showcases five impressionist stories told through analogue photography.
The Contemporary Analogue Print Society (CAPS) under the auspices of the Fine Monochrome Print Group presents the exhibition Silver Stories.
This exhibition draws together five photographers using traditional film to capture and tell contemporary photographic stories. The group consists of Neil Moorhead who explores the liminal world of Geistlimen (Spirit Threshold) through his 4x5 pinhole camera; Mick Lord who showcases the beautiful geometry of Staircases; Kyle George who captures the dynamic Brisbane music scene in Gigging; Rob Crapnell who celebrates Ipswich laneways in Ways Through; and Jillian Barker who explores dreamlike landscapes in her series Pictorialist Dreams.
Silver Stories celebrates the power of photography to capture moments as they are seen. The images have been captured with a wide range of equipment from pinhole cameras to large format sheet film, but all are stories that call to the emotions and are a reflections the impressions that moments have left on the artists.
