Christopher Bentley's digital art explores nostalgia and contrasts between old and new technology, revealing the evolution and limitations of digital mediums over 30 years.
As Seen on TV presents a unique collection of digital artworks crafted using diverse hardware, notably including the Sega Mega Drive and a vintage art program from 1991. Despite the hardware's inherent limitations, such as a restricted color palette and inability to save work, these pieces offer a nostalgic glimpse into digital art creation of the past.
Capturing the essence of each creative session, the exhibition showcases both images and videos documenting the process behind these distinctive works. By juxtaposing these vintage creations with contemporary digital art, 'As Seen On TV' offers a compelling visual journey spanning three decades, illuminating the evolution of digital artistry and storage methods over time.
The exhibition will feature prints and videos, providing viewers with a comprehensive understanding of the artistic process. Alongside the Sega Mega Drive pieces, visitors will encounter artworks produced using a variety of modern software and systems.
