Join art historian Dr Louise R Mayhew for a special guided tour of Ipswich Art Gallery's new exhibition Arriving Slowly.

This tour invites you to immerse yourself with key works in the exhibition, as Louise gently guides participants to engage in a deeper, more meaningful connection with art. Explore artworks through prompts for slow and thoughtful observation, exploring the pursuit of the sublime in Abstraction.

Two sessions only. Places are limited!

Arriving Slowly is an Ipswich Art Gallery exhibition featuring contemporary abstract works by Lincoln Austin, Yuriyal Eric Bridgeman, Leonard Brown, Consuelo Cavaniglia, Lottie Consalvo, Margery Edwards, Ian Friend, Michael Georgetti, D Harding, Robert Hunter, Paul Knight, Lindy Lee, Taree Mackenzie, Hilarie Mais, Ross Manning, Dawn NG, Jonny Niesche, Rosslynd Piggott, Sandra Selig and Amber Wallis.

Arriving Slowly is open 10am-5pm daily, seven days a week from 17 November-27 January. Closed 24 Dec 2024-2 January 2025.

Dr Louise R Mayhew is an Australian Feminist Art Historian. Following a decade teaching art history at universities, she mentors emerging creatives and freelances as an art writer and editor.

Louise is endlessly excited about art, and believes that all creatives deserve enthusiastic, accessible, goal-oriented support.
