Sculpt your own one-of-a-kind 3D object with artist Christopher Bentley!
Dive into the world of 3D modelling in this hands-on introductory workshop, using NomadSculpt on iPad. Learn the basics of morphing 'digital clay' to sculpt and shape 3D forms with artist Christopher Bentley, whose practice spans video art, animation and video games.
You will have the chance to explore existing models or build your own imaginative creation from scratch. By the end of the workshop, participants will take away a digital file they can print into a 3D model at the Ipswich Libraries, drop into a video game or animation, or continue to develop!
No prior experience is required, just curiosity and a desire to create.
Materials: All materials are provided.
Please meet at the Ipswich Art Workshop, in d'Arcy Doyle Place.

Christopher Bentley
Christopher Bentley is a digital artist working across video art, 3D modelling and interactive digital installations. His practice explores the creative possibilities and limitations of both contemporary and obsolete technologies, using tools that range from discontinued 1990s 3D software to modern game engines and iPad-based workflows. He is particularly interested in how digital tools shape creative process, accessibility and the visual language of the artworks they produce.
In this way, Bentley's work invites audiences to reflect on the rapid evolution of technology and the shifting lifespan of digital media. By bridging older systems with current platforms, he highlights how each generation of tools influences the way artists make, share and preserve their work.
Christopher Bentley's artwork is included in the upcoming Stage Gallery exhibition, Machine, Man.
