We offer facilities for a range of diverse audiences

Wheelchair Access

  • Ipswich Art Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
  • Toilets with wheelchair access and infant change tables are available on the Lower Ground level. 
  • All public restrooms are located on our Lower Ground level which is accessible from every level in the gallery via elevator.

Pram Access

  • Ipswich Art Gallery is wheelchair and pram accessible, with an internal lift providing access to all public levels of the Gallery.

Restroom Facilities

Ipswich Art Gallery has four restrooms for our visitors: 

  • a Men’s bathroom with stalls and urinals
  • a Women’s bathroom with stalls
  • a Parent’s bathroom with baby-change table and stall
  • an Accessible bathroom, with a baby change table and a grab rail installed to the right-hand side of the toilet.
  • All public restrooms are located on our Lower Ground level which is accessible from every level in the gallery via elevator.

Assistance Animals

Guide dogs and other registered assistance animals are welcome at Ipswich Art Gallery.

Interpreters and Translators

  • Ipswich Art Gallery welcomes interpreters and translators to assist with communication. Please contact the Visitor Services Team in advance of visiting to access exhibition, tour and event notes. Email: info@ipswichartgallery.qld.gov.au
  • To ensure greater accessibility and inclusion for our deaf and hard-of-hearing community members, Auslan Interpretation is offered at our exhibition openings.

Sensory Considerations

  • Ipswich Art Gallery is a family-friendly venue. We often welcome large crowds or school groups, which can be noisy. Some exhibitions may feature light displays or sounds. For patrons with auditory sensitivity, we recommend bringing noise cancelling equipment. We recommend contacting the Gallery prior to visiting if you are concerned about additional stimuli.
  • Ipswich Art Gallery is a temperature-controlled environment. For patrons with temperature sensitivity, we recommend bringing jumpers or blankets.
