An opportunity for Ipswich audiences to view this popular sculpture from the Queensland Art Gallery's collection, on the first stop of its Queensland tour.

Australian-born, London-based sculptor Ron Mueck creates some of the most widely acclaimed and identifiable sculptural works in the international contemporary art arena. His incredibly life-like figures are often naked and suspended in states of self-consciousness, introspection or deep contemplation, presenting both emotional and physical states of exposure. Astounding in their realism, Mueck's works have earned him a singular place as the creator of some of the most evocative sculptures of our time.

Mueck's work In bed is a mesmerizing, larger-than-life sculpture of a woman lying in bed and is the singular feature of this Queensland Art Gallery Travelling Exhibition.
