Join Dr Carol McGregor and Kyra Mancktelow as they discuss textile art's capacity to challenge existing histories, build on traditions, and capture the residues and relationality of change in today's shifting society.

CURATOR OF RESIDUE + RESPONSE: TAMWORTH TEXTILE TRIENNIAL

Dr Carol McGregor

Magandjin based artist Carol McGregor (Kulin Nation, Scottish) practices across multiple disciplines including textiles, print, paint and sculpture. McGregor is currently a lecturer at the Queensland College of Art and Design.

She is the curator of Residue + Response: Tamworth Textile Triennial.

Kyra Mancktelow

Kyra Mancktelow’s multidisciplinary practice investigates legacies of colonialism, posing important questions such as how we remember and acknowledge Indigenous histories. A Quandamooka artist with links to the Mardigan peoples of Cunnamulla, Mancktelow's practice includes printmaking, ceramics and sculpture – each applying a unique and distinct aesthetic.
